FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University’s Student Senate is sponsoring their annual concert and will feature the Plain White T’s and The Ready Set, as well as opening band The Downtown Fiction on Thursday, April 14 at 8:00 p.m. in Marian's Sadoff Gymnasium.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m., with The Downtown Fiction opening the show at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the public, $30 each, will be sold beginning Monday, March 28. Tickets are available at Mike’s Music and Sound, 289 N. Main Street, Fond du Lac, with cash or checks made payable to Marian University. Credit card sales can be made by going to www.mariantickets.com. General admission only, no reserved seating.
Major music sensation, the Plain White T’s, is a rock/pop band that started in Chicago, Illinois. The band is best known for their songs “Hey There Delilah,” which hit the charts in many countries, and “1, 2, 3, 4.” The band broke into the mainstream after the success of “Hey There Delilah” and “Hate (I really don’t like you)” from their album Every Second Counts. The Plain White T’s released The Wonders of the Younger, their latest album, in 2010, with their latest hit “The Rhythm of Love.”
The Ready Set is the solo project of 20-year-old American musician Jordan Witzigreuter. Since beginning his music career in 2007, The Ready Set has released three albums, with his latest album I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming, which was released in July 2010.
The Downtown Fiction is a rock/pop band from Fairfax, Virginia. Formed by two of its members in 2008, The Downtown Fiction released their self-titled album in 2009, and will be beginning their Let’s Be Animals Tour in April 2011.
Marian is known for bringing big name musical acts on campus, funded by a student activity fee. The university hosted Jay Sean in 2010, American Idol winner and country artist Josh Gracin in 2009, comedian Kenan Thompson in 2008, Augustana in 2007 and the MTVU Campus Invasion Tour in 2006.
