May 18, 2011

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University received special recognition for 15 years of service at The Gathering of Southeast WI, Inc’s annual volunteer recognition event on May 6 in Milwaukee. The Gathering provides ten free meals each week at three sites to over 100,000 of Milwaukee's hungry and homeless annually.

Amber Smith, a senior social work major, and Sister Donna Innes, CSA, a member of the Service Learning Committee, represented Marian University. Amber was part of last summer’s class that served at the Gathering. Recognition was given to 27 individuals and groups who reached significant milestones in years of service.
