Marian University presents Alumni Awards 20118/25/2012FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University will be hosting their 14th annual Alumni Awards during homecoming. The Alumni Awards Reception will be on Saturday September 17 in the Stayer Center Dining Room. The reception will begin at 2 p.m. with the award presentation at 3 p.m.The Alumni Spirit of Marian Award will be presented to 2002 Marian graduate Paul Osterholm. His generous desire to serve others has proven to be a model to Marian’s students. He is an asset to the community with his enthusiasm, integrity and passion.Randy Hatlen, a ’99 graduate, will receive the Marian Alumni Service Award. He is being recognized for his loyal voluntary services to the university and community. His dedication and hard work has raised thousands of dollars for student scholarships. Hatlen helped to develop the annual Alumni and Friends Golf Outing and is a Marian alumni board member. Captain Steven Klein ’02, will be presented the Distinguished Alumni Award for his significant contributions to society. Captain Klein has contributed to the community through his law enforcement profession and his efforts toward autism education. He is also an ARC board member, designed the FDL Police Departments alcohol license review system, started the FDL K-9 program and organizes the annual Cops for Kids Christmas party for financially challenged families.The Sr. Judith Schmidt Core Values Award will be presented to Dr. Tosha Meredith, ‘94. She is acknowledged for using her mathematic and accounting skills to volunteer as a tutor at high schools and colleges. She also volunteers as a church coordinator to help build strong families in the Atlanta area. Dr. Meredith, a woman of color, has excelled in the military, as a business woman and now as an educator. Tickets for the Alumni Awards Reception can be purchased for $10.
