Marian University honored faculty and community partners at service learning luncheon8/25/2012May 3, 2011 FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University honored faculty and area community partners at the fourth annual service learning luncheon on April 20. The luncheon recognized the important contribution service learning partners make in the Fond du Lac community. Service learning pairs faculty with area businesses and organizations who are able to offer valuable real world experience for students who volunteer. It is a teaching and learning approach that integrates community service with academic study to enrich learning, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities. Twenty-four Marian University faculty, twelve students, and fifteen community partners were honored for their service and received a certificate of recognition.
