Marian University celebrated Friend and Masters Day

September 23, 2011

FOND DU LAC, Wis. —Friday, September 16, students and faculty in the Marian University School of Business celebrated Friends & Masters Day. Business alumni were invited to visit campus to meet current students as part of the Marian Homecoming celebration September 16-18.

The event allowed current students to network with alumni and friends of the School of Business. Business alumni shared their experience and wisdom with students during sessions that focused on the impact of technology on business practice. This year’s theme was “Using Social Media in Business.”

Keynote speaker David Klumpyan, Klumpyan Consulting, LLC, gave a presentation titled, “Technology and the Changing Business Environment.” He shared his experience with the impact of technology over the past 40 years and encouraged students to remember that “technology is not the solution; it is a tool for solutions.”

“This event is an extension of Marian’s commitment to educating the whole student. It helps our students to see how what they learn in class relates to issues people in business see every day,” said Michael Doherty, associate professor of Information Technology.
