Ann Umbreit named Marian University’s Sabre of the Month

October 5, 2011

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University has named Ann Umbreit, coordinator of the International Multicultural Center and the international education office, as its September Sabre of the Month.

Umbreit has been employed at Marian for seven years. The University values her work in helping international students who need assistance adjusting to Marian University and the United States. In addition, Umbreit assists students in learning about other cultures through the IMC or study abroad programs, and finds mentors through the Fond du Lac Family Connection program for international students.

“Seeing study abroad students grow in their perception of the world and truly understand what being part of a global world is all about is the most rewarding part of my work,” said Umbreit.

The Sabre of the Month Employee Recognition Program honors faculty and staff who exemplify the Marian University core values – community, learning, service, social justice and spiritual traditions.
