“Railroaded by NAFTA/CAFTA” presentation to be held at Marian University

FOND DU LAC, Wis. Marian University’s Social Justice Committee, in collaboration with the Foreign Language department, will be hosting the “Railroaded by NAFTA/CAFTA: The Perilous Journey from Central America to the States” presentation by Nancy Garcia on Tuesday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stayer Center Auditorium.

Nancy Garcia is a representative from the Center for the Orientation of Migrants (COMI), located in Oaxaca, Mexico. The center, which was started by the Archdiocese of Oaxaca, is a non-profit migrant support center that aims to assist Oaxacan and Central American migrant populations. Garcia’s presentation is part of this year’s Witness for Peace series, and will focus on the root causes of immigration in Central America.
