FOND DU LAC, Wis.-Marian College has named Bev Compton '70, Admission Secretary for the Marian College Adult Accelerated Program, its March Sabre of the Month.
Compton has worked at Marian for more than 16 years. She is responsible for taking inquiry calls, receiving applications and transcriptions, sending acceptance letters and serving as a receptionist. She is a member of many committees at Marian, such as the Center for Spirituality and Leadership, the Social Justice Committee, the Wellness Committee, and the Heritage Festival of the Arts Committee. She co-chairs the Faculty, Student and Staff Scholarship Committee.
Compton graduated from Marian in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
"Being named Sabre of the Month is a humbling experience and an honor," says Compton. "There are many other co-workers, both named and unnamed, who deserve this honor. Our MAAP admission team and our MAAP staff work hard to serve others through our customer service, and I am privileged to be a part of these teams and work along with their hard-working members."
The Sabre of the Month Employee Recognition Program honors faculty and staff who exemplify the Marian College core values -community, learning, service, social justice and spiritual traditions.
