FOND DU LAC, Wis.- Marian College honored the accomplishments of three alumni during the college's fifth annual Homecoming Oct. 27.
Alonzo Kelly '96, ambulatory care manager for Children's Hospital and Health System in Milwaukee, received the Sr. Judith Schmidt Core Values Award. Originally from Detroit, Kelly is a graduate of Marian and St. Lawrence Seminary in Mount Calvary. He is a member of Marian's Board of Trustees, president of the Milwaukee Urban League of Young Professionals, and a member of the boards of the Milwaukee Renaissance Academy and Guest House.
Jean Beinemann '78, senior public health nursing supervisor for Sheboygan County Health and Human Services, received the Professional Achievement Award. Beinemann was instrumental in obtaining a $3 million grant to reduce childhood lead poisoning in Sheboygan. She is a fellow of the Mid-American Public Health Leadership Institute.
Sandra Bernier '05, Tobacco Prevention Program assistant for the Fond du Lac County Health Department, received the Service to the Community Award. Bernier is also the coordinator of the Fond du Lac Coordinated Community Response Against Violence.She is a volunteer with numerous Fond du Lac-area organizations,and serves as a member of the Marian College Alumni Association Board.
