What Are You Inspired to Do?

President Steven R. DiSalvoWelcome to Marian University! I invite you to discover Marian as we conclude our year-long celebration of 75 years of providing outstanding educational opportunities for traditional, adult and graduate students.

Marian University transforms lives through academic excellence, innovation and leadership.  The rich heritage of the university continues to pervade the academic, co-curricular and residential life experiences for our students on Marian’s main campus, nestled in the heart of east-central Wisconsin.  Adult undergraduate and graduate students are also able to benefit from the Fond du Lac campus or to take courses at any of our educational outreach centers across the state.

At Marian, we believe the experience is about the individual – it’s about YOU.  This is true whether you are a student at Marian or contemplating becoming one, a parent, one of our proud alumni, a potential employee, a benefactor or someone who simply has an interest in learning more about us.

Our alumni from every state in the nation and from around the world claim Marian University as home.  With degrees from more than 50 undergraduate and graduate programs in a variety of disciplines, Marian alumni positively impact our communities as they continue to live the Core Values that are essential to the Mission of the university.

Marian enjoys a strong partnership with the Fond du Lac community.  The economic impact our presence has on the area is significant; however, it is the relationship we have with the businesses, organizations and residents that are of greatest value.  Our students participate in internships, clinical and other experiential opportunities; students, faculty and staff contribute in excess of 10,000 volunteer hours annually to area organizations; many of our cultural programs and other presentations are open to the community; and, of course, we are a source of excellent graduates ready to seek employment!

During our reflection on 75 years of tradition and excellence, we celebrated the past and embraced the future. Marian University was founded as Marian College in 1936 by pioneering religious women, the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes. Through their continued sponsorship, their charism still influences all we do. With this same spirit of enthusiasm, Marian University continues the legacy of educating women and men who are dedicated to community, service, social justice and spiritual traditions.

I invite you to explore these Web pages and discover how we can inspire you.
